About Britt Sisseck
Her Story
Inspired by her many years living abroad, Britt’s eponymous label has established itself at the pinnacle of sartorial tailoring since it’s inception in 2014. Britt begun her lustrous career at the prestigous Parsons School of Design in Paris, graduatuing in 1990. Shortly thereafter, her move to Spain saw the creation of her first clothing label.
She moved back to her hometown, Copenhagen, in 2000 and opened a boutique in the city centre dedicated to luxury made-to-measure and a limited selection of off-the-rack eventwear. She soon became synonymous with superior quality and tailoring, establishing herself as one of Scandinavia’s leading designers - recognised in 2006 when she received the Scandinavian Design Prize for her ready to wear line.
In 2009 she closed her boutique in preparation for her fourth child, and in 2014 she emerged with her namesake label Britt Sisseck; born from an admiration for the materials and precision involved in men’s shirting. A decade on, Britt Sisseck offers a broader range of styes, focused on experiencing a little bit of luxury in the everyday.
Design Philosophy
Britt Sisseck instils a sense of poetry into the realities of contemporary womenswear. Whether it’s a decorative ladderstitch trim, a princely ruffle, the way a cuff juts out when it’s folded back or simply the crisp line of a striped shirt, the label is about exquisiteness in quality and detail.
Understated tailoring influences can be felt in the skilful construction and accent features. The collection is imagined as the ultimate luxury of ease and versatility. From the sophisticated uniform of Britt Sisseck blouses with jeans to matching sets, clashing print separates and layering, a small number of items make up a resourceful wardrobe.
Recurring and permanent styles speak to the integrity of label. The ageless pieces are intended to be desirable for a longer period of time, conveying a trust in the product and the knowledge that the collection represents the definitive and very best possible version of a blouse. Collections are produced in the EU with fabrics and trimmings sourced from Italy and Japan.
