Sustainability-old

Britt Sisseck works exclusively with top European suppliers and manufacturers who value sustainability and a strong code of ethics. By their very nature our versatile designs embody the idea that less is more, supporting our philosophy of long-lasting, sustainable fashion. As an inherent part of this dedication to timeless design and exceptional construction our manufacturers have a long history of the finest weaving and printing, some dating back to the 19th century. They combine impeccable craftsmanship with state-of-the-art innovation to produce the world’s most precious fabrics that represent true luxury. Our materials are mainly produced in Italy and are of the highest quality, made from superior raw materials.

Cotton

Our Italian cotton manufacturers are certified OEKO-TEX Standard 100, guaranteeing no toxic content in the materials at any stage of processing. They work to preserve rare cotton species, cultivated according to strict organic farming criteria, and utilise their own wind and solar farms as well as hydroelectric plants for their energy-saving production. Firmly dedicated to renewable energy, they work to reduce CO2 emissions and water consumption. Their manufacturing also makes use of water discharge purifiers during the dying cycle.

Prints and silks

Our prints and silks are primarily sourced from one of the world’s leading Italian fabric manufacturers, who produces organic silks. Organic fertilisers are used to grow mulberry trees with strictly no use of pesticides and insecticides. Similarly, cocoons are not treated with antibiotics or drugs and only certified oils are used during spinning. Their organic cotton is grown using low environmental impact farming without chemicals and fabric production is set up to minimise textile waste.
